Dodgers Lose to Dirty Reds, 5-2
|
The San Mateo Dirty Reds beat the Brooklyn Dodgers, 5-2, at Ebbetts Field. The Dirty Reds got a fine performance from right fielder Scott Janousek, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-2 with a home run, a double, and 3 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. José Barquero got credit for the save for San Mateo. It was his 6th of the year. The first-place Dirty Reds are now 39-24, the Dodgers 25-38.
Iván Vega hit a 2-run triple off Harrison Tuff in the top of the first, which put the Dirty Reds in front, 2-0. Vega had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
