The Hollywood Shredders got a strong performance from pitcher Eddie Kop, who stymied the Brooklyn offense en route to a 4-2 win at Ebbetts Field. In 7 innings, Kop surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Getting the save was WyDale Curry, his 5th.
Hollywood used the clutch hitting of Jurg Ursin to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Shredders ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Ursin.
Hollywood currently is in 4th place in the Third League at 32-24.
