Aviators Clip Cattlemen in Tight Contest
|
The Seattle Aviators racked up a win at Boeing Dome, bumping off the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 4-3. John A. Mais, who started for Seattle, pitched effectively for his team. The winner was Seattle reliever Wes Hamm, now 4-3. The loser was Bryan Tuff. Seattle, at 27-18, sits in second place in the Third League.
Josh Platt had the critical at-bat for Seattle. With one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, he grounded out, driving in 1 run. It gave Seattle the 4-3 walk-off win.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Mais.
