Shredders Get Road Win, 5-4
|
Hollywood right fielder Ralph Cranford played a vital role in his team's 5-4 triumph over Ft. Worth. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for Hollywood. Eddie Kop picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 1. On the season, he is now 3-1. An Jang-Yop recorded his 5th save for Hollywood.
Hollywood used the timely hitting of Divine Diablo to capture the win. The catcher socked a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Shredders ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Hollywood manager Bill Cheese.
The Cattlemen, now 23-15, have lost 5 straight.
