Hotspur Nip Dirty Reds, 7-6
|
San Mateo third baseman Hyeon-cheong Kim was sensational. He went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Phoenix beat the Dirty Reds, 7-6. Kim was named the player of the game despite the loss. José Ruíz got the win, improving to 2-2. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1. The Hotspur have now won 4 straight.
In the bottom of the sixth, Phoenix right fielder Francisco García had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 3rd and two out, García stroked a run-scoring single to left-center. It made the score 7-2, Phoenix. For the game, he was 2-5 with 2 singles.
"I like the roll we're on," said Phoenix manager Michael Esposito.
