van Aardschot Rips Port Royal for 5 Hits
|
There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget.
Henk van Aardschot of the Bloomington Longnecks had one such moment at Lookouts Ballpark today, when he went 5 for 5 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and Bloomington fell to a 11-4 defeat to the Port Royal Disaster.
"This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 25-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game."
Henk van Aardschot singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Domingo Montémayor in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far this season van Aardschot is hitting .405 with 1 home run, 1 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has 15 hits in 37 at-bats and has played in 10 games.
