The Bloomington Longnecks defeated the Scranton Supernovas, 7-6, at Nuclear Stadium. Bloomington shortstop Tony Martínez was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Pierre Levegh was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. The Longnecks are off to an underwhelming start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 3rd win in 7 games.

Late-game drama came in the top of the tenth inning. With one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Mark Armstead, hit a single. It helped Bloomington seize the win.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Martínez. "And not try to do too much."
