Witt goes 4-for-5, Bronze Sox Move to 70-31
|
Michael Witt was instrumental in his team's 8-2 triumph over the Sunset District Fog. The center fielder was 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 doubles, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 2 for the Texas Bronze Sox. Oliver Rodríguez earned the win for Texas. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 7 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 4-1. Van Lapointe earned his 1st save in 3 chances.
With Texas leading 3-2 in the top of the fifth, Witt hit a curveball from Luis Flores for a solo home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Bronze Sox ahead, 4-2.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Witt said.
The Bronze Sox own a robust 70-31 mark.
