Fighting Dachsunds Outmuscle Alloway, 12-8
|
With designated hitter Steve Koch leading the charge, the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds defeated the Alloway Halberds, 12-8, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Koch, who leads the SAAA in bases on balls with 67, went 3 for 6 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Ellenburg reliever Félix Santiago was the winner. His record is now 4-0. John Vaillancourt took the loss. César Sandoval nailed down his 4th save.
Ellenburg took a 6-5 lead on Koch's 3rd triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which he hit off Gerald Plomp in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Ellenburg to the win.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Ellenburg skipper Justin Saginov.
The last-place Fighting Dachsunds now have a win-loss record of 36-64.
