Late Rally by Humpbacks Secures Win
The Jersey City Tritons got a superb performance from pitcher Juan Valdéz, but the Alaskan Humpbacks still won the game, 4-2. Valdéz was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball. Alaskan is now 60-40, while Jersey City is 50-50.

Had Sigi Lang not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Lang hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Humpbacks.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Alaskan manager John Carney. "It's usually not just one thing."
