Timber Hawks Get Past Jersey City for 5-4 Win
|
The Augusta Timber Hawks eked out a 5-4 win versus the Jersey City Tritons at Jersey City Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Katsumoto Miyanohara, who captured player of the game honors. The winning pitcher was Miyanohara, now 7-2. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 2. Edmond McCord, credited with the save, is now 12 for 15 in save opportunities.
Randy Sallah made it 3-2 in favor of Augusta when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with two out in the top of the eighth. The Timber Hawks went on to win.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Miyanohara, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Augusta now sits at 56-40, while Jersey City falls to 49-47.
