Herrera goes 3-for-5, Bronze Sox Move to 61-27
|
With catcher Miguel Herrera leading the charge, the Texas Bronze Sox defeated the Augusta Timber Hawks, 9-2, at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Herrera, who is tied for 5th in the SAAA with a .879 OPS, was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5. The Bronze Sox have an impressive 61-27 record.
With Texas leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Herrera hit a forkball from Walt Coffman for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Bronze Sox ahead, 4-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Herrera said.
