Vermont Lake Monsters starter Billy Grange was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Jersey City Tritons, 8-1. Javier Mejía was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 5 save opportunities. Vermont, at 43-45, occupies 5th place in the Silver AAA.

Tullu Amaad had a big bases-clearing double for the Lake Monsters in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Vermont leading 3-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Guldemunde Geilinger and stroked the double to center. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lake Monsters ahead, 6-1.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Lake Monsters manager José Zamora, "I like our chances."
