|
Texas designated hitter Jeff Reed was instrumental in his team's 14-1 win over the Memphis Redbirds. Reed, who is rated as the 65th best prospect by BNN, went 4-5 with 4 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Bronze Sox. Texas improves to 49-25 with the win. They lead their division by 5 games.
The Bronze Sox grabbed the lead in the top of the first. With one out, Miguel Herrera, who is tied for 7th in the SAAA with a .312 batting average, hit a 3-run home run off Hong-bin Hua, putting Texas in front, 4-0. For Herrera, it was his 7th home run of the season.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Reed. "And not try to do too much."
