The New Orleans Voodoo racked up a win at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum, bumping off the Philadelphia 1776 BC, 5-1. Eric Matson, who started for New Orleans, pitched effectively for his team. Marcos Mesorana closed the game out for New Orleans, earning his 2nd save. The Voodoo, with just their 2nd win so far in 2036, have yet to catch fire.

Matson made it look easy. He scattered 3 hits over 7.1 innings, while racking up 10 strikeouts. The right-hander upped his season record to 1-0.

"I had a good game plan," said Matson. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Chase Sims said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
