The Indianapolis Racers did just enough to secure a 1-0 victory over the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds at Speedway Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Anthony Hood, who captured player of the game honors. Indianapolis reliever Valentín Rivera picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Shawn Stevenson took the loss. Indianapolis is now 26-27.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Gong Mao came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Ellenburg pitcher Paul Zucarelli, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Indianapolis on top, 1-0.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Hood.
