António Martínez made an impact in the 7-1 Charleston win over Vancouver. Martínez, who is tied for 10th in the PL in bases on balls with 26, was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Juan Contreras earned the win for Charleston. He lasted 7.1 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 5 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 7-1. The 5th-place Grey Wolves have dropped 4 straight games.
It could have been a different outcome for Charleston, had it not been for Paco Muńóz, the 31-year old catcher . Muńóz contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to put Charleston up, 3-1.
