The Lake Monsters had to overcome a fine performance from Alloway pitcher Bob Browning to grab a 3-2 win at Monster Field. Browning allowed 3 earned runs over 8 innings. Reliever Jiong Bao picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Bob Browning took the loss. The save was credited to Zhong-yi Huang, his 1st.

José Medina's at-bat in the bottom of the fourth inning was a big one for Vermont. Coming to bat with one out, the bases loaded and Vermont trailing 2-1, the first baseman grounded out, driving in 1 run.

Medina expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
