Dumervil, Bronze Sox Clobber Racers

The Texas Bronze Sox knocked off the Indianapolis Racers, 11-2, at Speedway Field. Dejmi Dumervil, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Texas won. The second baseman hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Van Lapointe got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 7.1 innings. The Bronze Sox, at 27-16, have now won 7 straight.
In the top of the first, Dumervil pounced on a first pitch fastball from Risto Hannila and hit a 2-run home run. It put Texas on top, 2-0.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Dumervil said after the game.
