Indianapolis Racers starter Ryunosuke Kurota pitched a strong game against the Augusta Timber Hawks at Speedway Field, leading the Racers to a 4-3 win. Indianapolis reliever Hans Rager was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Rust Cohle took the loss. With the win, the Racers improved to 23-19.

Had Randy Contreras not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Contreras hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Racers.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Indianapolis manager Rickey Jones.
