Lake Monsters Get Road Win, 7-4
|
Juan Pedraza had a hand in Vermont defeating Jersey City by the score of 7-4. Pedraza went 3 for 5 at the plate, scoring 2 times and driving in 1 runs. The winner was Sakutaro Ohayashi, who threw 103 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits. Ramón Martínez recorded his 1st save for Vermont.
Vermont used a timely hit from Barry Flauker to get the win. The center fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the first inning to put the Lake Monsters on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Pedraza. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
The 8th-place Lake Monsters raised their record to 17-23.
