Tritons Walk Off with 8-7 Win
|
The Jersey City Tritons powered past the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 8-7, at Jersey City Grounds. Carlos Rúbio went 4 for 7 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3, to lead the charge. Reliever Chris Sommer picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. James Bennett took the loss. The first-place Tritons have won 5 straight games.
Júlio Costa had the critical at-bat for Jersey City. With one out in the bottom of the 14th inning, he hit a sacrifice fly. It gave Jersey City the 8-7 walk-off win.
"It was terrific getting this win," Costa said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
