Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Augusta Timber Hawks got the win.

Behind a solid performance from left fielder Joey Trifone, the Augusta Timber Hawks defeated the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-3. Trifone was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Timber Hawks. Edmond McCord sewed up the save, his 1st.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when second baseman Mike Printup drew a walk. The Timber Hawks went on to win.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Augusta skipper José Santos. "I can't complain."

The Timber Hawks now have a record of 25-13.
