Spillane Helps Bronze Sox Run Win Streak to 4
|
The Texas Bronze Sox topped the Jersey City Tritons, 8-2, with shortstop Bren Spillane playing a big role. Spillane went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Bronze Sox in the win. Valentin Calhamar, credited with the win, is now 4-4. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 7 innings. The third-place Bronze Sox now have a 4-game winning streak.
With Texas leading 3-1 in the bottom of the third, Spillane hit a 2-run home run off Jersey City hurler Guldemunde Geilinger. It was the 5th home run of the season for Spillane and put his team ahead, 5-1.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Spillane told the Texas Today.
