Halberds Fall to Timber Hawks, 8-6
|
Ballpark of Alloway was the site for USSL Triple A action featuring the Alloway Halberds and Augusta Timber Hawks.
The Augusta Timber Hawks overcame a good performance by Alloway catcher Gidde Collin to knock off Alloway, 8-6, at Ballpark of Alloway. Collin went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Augusta is now 21-11, Alloway 11-21.
Augusta used the bat of José Pinto to capture the win. The right fielder jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Timber Hawks ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"We maximized our offense today," said Augusta skipper José Santos. "That makes everyone's life easier."
