Halberds Clip Timber Hawks in Tight Contest
The Alloway Halberds bested the Augusta Timber Hawks, 8-7, at Ballpark of Alloway. Carlos Garza was named player of the game. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. With the win over Augusta, the Halberds improved to 11-20.

Alloway took a 8-7 lead on Mark Toope's 18th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Toope hit in the bottom of the ninth, left Augusta pitcher Billy Brooks visibly frustrated.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Toope said.
