Tight Tilt Goes to Bronze Sox, 3-2
|
The Texas Bronze Sox defeated the Augusta Timber Hawks, 3-2, in USSL Triple A action at Bronze Sox Park, with Texas pitcher Hercules Mata'afa named player of the game. Mata'afa went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-0. Earning his 4th save of the year was Miguel Cervantes.
Jeff Reed put Texas in front, 3-0, when he took Brian Krick downtown. His 2-run home run came with one out in the bottom of the sixth. It was his 1st home run of the season.
"I really like what we did out there today," Reed said after the game.
Texas now sits in 4th place in the Silver AAA at 13-12.
