Racers DH Guzmán goes 3-for-4 in Win
|
The Indianapolis Racers knocked off the Vermont Lake Monsters, 5-1, at Speedway Field. Valentín Guzmán, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Indianapolis won. The designated hitter was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. José Macías earned the save, his 2nd. The third-place Racers now have a win-loss record of 14-11.
With Indianapolis leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Guzmán hit a changeup from Sakutaro Ohayashi for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Racers ahead, 3-0.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Guzmán. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
