The Indianapolis Racers did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Texas Bronze Sox at Bronze Sox Park. Nobody did more than first baseman Jorge Velázquez, who captured player of the game honors. The win gives Indianapolis a record of 11-8.

In the top of the first, Velázquez pounced on a 1-0 fastball from Alvin Randolph and hit a 3-run home run. It put Indianapolis on top, 3-0.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Indianapolis manager Rickey Jones.
