Timber Hawks Suffer 8-5 Setback
|
Gong Mao helped his team muscle past the Augusta Timber Hawks, 8-5. In the game, the Indianapolis right fielder went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Juan Hernández earned the save, his 2nd, for the Racers. The win gives the Racers a record of 10-7.
Indianapolis relied on the hitting of Mike Lipide to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a bases-clearing triple in the top of the first inning to put the Racers on top, 4-0. For the game, Lipide had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Mao said.
