Loss Extends Alloway Losing Streak
|
The Augusta Timber Hawks defeated the Alloway Halberds, 8-5. Earning player of the game honors was second baseman Mike Printup, who went 3-4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Augusta reliever Brian Krick picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Bob Browning took the loss. The Timber Hawks, now 8-3, have hit the ground running this season.
Eugene Bennett, the 10th overall pick in the 2033 draft, contributed to the Augusta win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Augusta skipper José Santos.
