Fighting Dachsunds Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds defeated the Vermont Lake Monsters, 3-0, in USSL Triple A action at Monster Field, with Ellenburg pitcher Barry Mullen named player of the game. Mullen, now 1-0, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 3, walking 5, and allowing no earned runs. Ellenburg, now 3-6, is off to a slow start.

The outcome might have been different for Ellenburg, had it not been for Mark Keys, the 30-year old third baseman . Keys stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put Ellenburg up, 2-0. For the game, he was 2 for 2, including 1 double and 1 single.
