Fog Rally For Late Win Over Targaryens
|
The Sunset District Fog knocked off the Royse City Targaryens, 5-3, at Royse City Stadium. Gabriel Montoya, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Sunset District won. The right fielder was 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Víctor García earned his 3rd save in 4 tries. The loss drops Royse City to 5-3.
Sunset District used the timely hitting of Cecil Nelson to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Fog ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
Montoya called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
