Halberds Suffer 8-5 Setback
|
Alloway right fielder Bora Garasanin had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Garasanin was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice, even as Indianapolis beat the Halberds, 8-5. Garasanin was named the player of the game despite the loss. Indianapolis has a mark of 4-3 after the win.
Had Valentín Guzmán not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Guzmán hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Racers.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Guzmán said after the game.
