The Racers grabbed a win, 6-4, at Fog Park, overcoming a fine effort from Sunset District pitcher Miguel Cabañas. Cabañas went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The win pushes Indianapolis to a record of 2-0.
Indianapolis used the timely hitting of Hou Kong to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Racers ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was an important one.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Kong told the Indianapolis Today.
