Longnecks Solve Golden Cranes, 5-2

The exploits of right fielder Mei Kim helped the Bloomington Longnecks defeat the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 5-2. Kim went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Robby Oglethorpe picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 1 in 5.2 innings. Dennis Bly closed the door for Bloomington, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Kim went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 against the Golden Cranes. With the game tied in the bottom of the fifth inning, he grounded out, driving in 1 run that scored 1 and put Bloomington in front, 2-1.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Bloomington manager Coy Knight. "It's usually not just one thing."
The Longnecks, now 2-1, have been on a roll in the early going.
