Thrilling Victory Pushes Thunder Hawks Win Streak to 6
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks beat the Virginia Palladium Sox, 7-5, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of second baseman Theo Wrighton, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The winning streak has now reached 6 games for Ft. Polk South.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Wrighton hit a changeup from Joel Plowden for a 2-run home run. The Thunder Hawks, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It feels good to get this one," Wrighton told the Ft. Polk South Gazette.
