Continentals Prevail, 4-2, Over Biloxi
|
The Chesapeake Continentals beat the Biloxi Shuckers, 4-2, at Chesapeake Grounds. The Continentals got a fine performance from third baseman Ryder Ringor, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Alfred Osuch, credited with the win, is now 5-8. He allowed 2 runs on 8 hits in 7 innings. Nicolas Michel notched his 8th save in 11 chances.
Adam Smith had a big run-scoring single for the Continentals in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Chesapeake leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a slider from Todd Denton and stroked the single to left-center. It was his 42nd hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Continentals ahead, 3-1.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Ringor told the Chesapeake Bulletin.
The current losing streak for Biloxi has reached 4 games.
