Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks starter Leon Alfons was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Marquette Miners, 3-2. Ft. Polk South reliever Kelvin Fontijn picked up the win, bumping his record to 11-5. Joaquin Farias was collared with the loss. Kyle Overhill finished to wrap up his 4th save.

This game went down to the wire. In the top of the 14th, Anastasio Flores had a big at-bat. With one out, the Ft. Polk South designated hitter hit a sacrifice fly, to put his team up, 3-2.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Alfons.

At 51-42, the Thunder Hawks find themselves in third place in the Silver AA.
