Hops Deal Thunder Hawks 7-4 Setback
|
Ft. Polk South got a terrific game from shortstop Roberts Hamhock. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Yakima, 7-4. Hamhock was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Hops now have a mark of 44-41.
Yakima used the timely hitting of Senichi Ito to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hops on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Ito.
