Miners Sink Farmers, 5-2

Marquette got a strong outing from Kenko Nakano as the Miners defeated the Lancaster Farmers, 5-2, at Marquette Stadium. Jude Cordingley earned his 4th save in 5 chances. Marquette is now 34-48, while Lancaster is 31-51.
Pedro Serano had a big bases-clearing double for the Miners in the bottom of the third inning. With Marquette trailing 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Miguel Longoria and stroked the double to right. It was his 34th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Miners ahead, 4-2.
Nakano called the win "a collective effort."
