Rawhides Rally For Late Win Over Continentals
|
With catcher Jun-soo Yi leading the charge, the Belvedere Park Rawhides defeated the Chesapeake Continentals, 7-6, at Field of the Rawhides. Yi went 3-4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs. The save went to Ron Pomar, his 5th this season. The Rawhides now have a record of 41-38 with the win over Chesapeake.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Toyoshige Ine came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Chesapeake pitcher Brooks Senetzer, he hit a 0-1 changeup for a run-scoring triple. It was a game-changer, putting Belvedere Park on top, 7-6.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Yi, "but we got it done."
