The Akron Blimps got a sterling performance from pitcher Jen-ta Men, but the Farmers still prevailed, 2-1. Men was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. The Farmers improve their record to 31-48 with the win over Akron.
Lancaster used the timely hitting of Álex Chávez to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Farmers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It feels good to get this one," Chávez told the Lancaster Citizen.
