Blanke Hits 2 home runs in BC Win
|
The Philadelphia 1776 BC grabbed a 14-4 win over the Portland Evergreens at Evergreen Park. Philadelphia 1776 designated hitter Karl Blanke was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 8 RBI and scoring twice to earn player of the game honors. The winner was Blair Wright, who threw 108 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits. With the win over Portland, the BC improved to 20-27.
Blanke put Philadelphia 1776 up, 10-2, when he hit a grand slam home run off Marcos Tejedor in the top of the sixth. His 8th home run of the season helped the BC capture the win.
