Thunder Hawks Need Extra Frames to Get Past Shuckers
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks took Biloxi pitcher Augusto Cardona's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Pizza Oven. The final score had Ft. Polk South getting past the Shuckers, 6-4. Cardona went 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 5. Ft. Polk South reliever Seong-hyeon Pak was the winner. His record is now 3-1. António Moreno took the loss. The Thunder Hawks improve their record to 30-26 with the win over Biloxi.

Ft. Polk South used the clutch hitting of Luke Thornton to capture the win. The catcher drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the 13th inning to give the Thunder Hawks the lead, 5-4. For the game, Thornton had 1 single and 1 double in 6 at-bats.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Thornton. "I like it."
