7 Straight Wins for Blimps
The Blimps had to overcome a good performance from Ft. Polk South pitcher Rubén Vázquez to claim a 6-5 win at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Vázquez went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Akron reliever Miguel Padilla was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Seong-hyeon Pak. Akron has run its win streak to 7 in a row.

Lauren Hilfiker was the walk-off hero for Akron. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blimps first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Akron manager Emílio Sáenz.
