Trevithick Helps Blimps Run Win Streak to 4
|
Akron third baseman Richard Trevithick made his presence felt in the 8-4 Blimps triumph over the Chesapeake Continentals. Trevithick went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Anthony Hood picked up the win with 8 innings of work. He allowed no earned runs on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 7. On the season, he is now 1-1. The third-place Blimps now have a 4-game winning streak.
Trevithick had a key at-bat for Akron early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double. It was his 1st double of the season and gave Akron an early 1-0 lead.
"We maximized our offense today," said Akron skipper Emílio Sáenz. "That makes everyone's life easier."
