Miners Come Back Late to Top Thunder Hawks
The Marquette Miners scored a 5-4 win versus the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Marquette Stadium. Marquette pitcher Jet Toner nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Marquette reliever César Sandoval got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Kelvin Fontijn was tagged with the loss. With the win, Marquette pushes its record to 8-11.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Marquette trailing 4-3, Álex Maroto hit a fastball from Kelvin Fontijn to right for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Miners had a walk-off win.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Maroto said in his postgame press conference.
