Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks starter Leon Alfons was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Chesapeake Continentals, 9-0. In 5.1 innings, Alfons surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. The Continentals fall to 6-11 and continue their uneasy start to the 2036 season.
Ft. Polk South used the clutch hitting of Yasuhide Nakashima to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to give the Thunder Hawks the lead, 2-0. For the game, Nakashima had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Chesapeake manager Ismael González.
