Thunder Hawks Win Thriller, 7-6
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks defeated the Biloxi Shuckers, 7-6, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Ft. Polk South was first baseman Ruggiero Veneziano. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Seong-hyeon Pak picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. António Moreno was tagged with the loss. With the win, Ft. Polk South improves its record to 4-5.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth, Anastasio Flores had a chance to end it. Biloxi pitcher António Moreno had other ideas. But with one out, Flores hit a sacrifice fly. The Thunder Hawks had the win.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Veneziano said after the game.
